Mary-Jo ("MJ") comes from a comprehensive nursing background. She values helping her clients find their own voice and pathway. She values a trusting and open relationship to bring about positive change. Her spiritual values underpin her respect  and care for others. As a wife and mother, she understands how families work. Her clients find her gentle  and easy to talk to and she enjoys humour.

 

Adele Coombs

MEd. (Guidance and Counselling),MA. (family Life Education), BEd. (Humanities)

Adele Coombs has a background as a music teacher and school guidance counsellor. She has worked in Schools and with families, to assist with parenting, family relationship skills and wellbeing. Her interests are in "tuning in" with people to find what is needed to help them make the transition to where they want to be. Adele has trained in creative and expressive therapies and offers Art  and Music therapy as well as Sandplay and symbol work to enhance understanding and transformation.

 

Struan Duthie

MEd. (Counselling). BA. LTh. Dip Ed. MNZAC

Struan has 25 years of experience as a counsellor, and has worked with a wide variety of people and their needs. He feels counselling should be an enjoyable experience even in bad times, when stress and depression can often make the going really hard. He believes in radical forgiveness for our mistakes; laughter as a sign of growth; and a close, confidential and relaxed relationship with a counsellor to be essential for change. Above all, Struan values kindness as the most helpful ingredient in counselling. When people have been kind to him , he has moved forward in his own life, and he tries to practise a similar kindness with those he helps
